Sculpture Classes
I enjoy teaching and offer formal and informal instruction to children and adults on a variety of subjects. Some images of student projects can be seen in my Photo Gallery.
Contact me any time to book a place on a course or discuss setting up a new course in my studio or at another location.
Sculpture Courses
I am currently teaching advanced/intermediate sculpting classes on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7-9pm in my Studio. The Monday class is full, but I have room in my Tuesday class for new students. I’m also looking to start a Wednesday class. Class limit is 6 people and students are free to work in a variety of media including wax, clay, plaster, and paper mache. Working in bronze and wood is also possible. Material fees apply and bronze casting is outsourced to a local Foundry (S.M. Allison and Lockbund).
Private Instruction
I also offer private tuition and studio visits in a variety of subjects including silicon mould making, armature construction welding, chemical patination on bronze, and general sculpting. For example, I have been working with Marie Ackers, a fine artist and sculptor. You can see her work here: Marie Ackers.
Sculpture projects for young people
Most recently I have started to work with nurseries and schools. This started with visits to my son’s Nursery, where I am an Artist in Residence, and led to my being invited to teach sessions at the School’s After School and Holiday sessions. I have also given a demonstration of sand castle and clay whistles making for a packed house at a “Out of School Network Meeting” run by Oxford City Council and taught at Camp Energy.
